The Physics of Leadership Q & A

Is there a workbook for the chapter exercises?

Yes. Click here to access the workbook.

Why on earth did you decided to write a leadership book based on physics?

2

What I love about this approach is that it forces precision. You can’t argue with the laws of physics. Things either are or they are not. Applying these same laws to leadership eliminates subjectivity, creates clarity, and establishes a reliable formula for success.

3

Could someone like this book if they don’t like physics?

Absolutely. I describe the concepts of physics “quickly and painlessly,” in simple terms, using relatable examples. I then quickly connect them to leadership. I also use a lighthearted voice throughout the book. You can hate physics and still laugh and learn along the way.

Several things. First, I haven’t seen other leadership books use physics as a learning tool. As a result, this book provides readers with a unique perspective—one that cuts through “fluffy” subjectivity and gets to the heart of what matters. Second, it exists within a three part series that addresses what I believe are the three drivers of extraordinary leadership: wisdom, intent, and impact. Leadership Alchemy addressed impact. This book focuses on wisdom. My third book will cover intent. While each of the books can stand alone, the combination is designed to cover all the bases, providing a comprehensive guide to helping teams and organizations achieve extraordinary success. Third, the combination of inspiring and stories from my own leadership journey and realistic hypothetical examples provides a powerful complement to the conceptual material. Lastly, like Leadership Alchemy was, this is not a passive read. It invites readers to actively engage with the material through structured self-reflection and development exercises. While readers are free to skip these sections, they are designed to hardwire the process of turning insight into action.

What makes this book stand out in a crowded field of leadership titles?

Which of the stories about your personal leadership journey are your favorite?

That’s a tough question. I like them all for different reasons. In the book, I was deliberate about not sharing what the stories meant to me. This is because all of my books are intended to create space for readers to draw their own conclusions and think for themselves. What I will say here that is not in the book, thought, is that the stories all changed my life in meaningful ways. Sometimes the change was immediate. In other cases, it gradually unfolded. But in all cases, the stories were formative and deeply personal.

How many books will be in the Leadership Alchemy Series? And why write a series?

I have found that extraordinary leadership is driven by three elements: wisdom, intent, and impact. The series will contain three books that cover these elements. While each of the books can stand alone, the combination is designed to cover all the bases, providing a comprehensive guide to helping teams and organizations achieve extraordinary success.
